Like the rest of the world, Covid-19 changed our lives, individually and as a community. We locked down within each of our houses and managed our individual situations within the group context. Some people could work from home, some people are essential and had to meet with clients or the public. We discussed how we would support those who lost their livelihoods, how we could support those of us who became ill.

We began to meet regularly over Zoom and invited those who did not live in CommunityHouses? to join us. Eventually we even figured out how to hold ZoomForum?. We stayed in contact. Being such a touch-centered community the pandemic has been a challenge for many of us on a deeply personal level.

Within a short period of time two of our members did a deep dive into the scientific research that was happening around the world. This research, and the fact that we had reserved funds to cover the expense, allowed us to create ventilation systems and UV-C light systems make our shared spaces safes enough to gather as a group for in-person forum and, eventually, to share a couple of CommunityMeals? a week.
