How Houses Work

Most houses have a "mayor," of sorts, who handles essential burdens of collecting and paying moneys for the house. The exact distribution of labors has different from house to house and time to time. Houses may or may not have regular meetings, in addition to WeeklyForum?.

One thing about Star Community Houses is that we tend to have not many, if any, rules. We are a HighContext? community, and vastly prefer ContextOverRules?. This is surprising to many newcomers coming in from the mainstream, from activism, or from workshop culture, who are more accustomed to a more legalistic way of doing things. History of the Star Community Houses Development

Phase 1:

Phase 2:

Phase 3:

Phase 4:

Note this phase is a mix of response to contractions caused by Covid, to a desire to consolidate to the solid core of the community in a tighter geographical area, and finally to do this without the increased financial risk of buying or renting another house.

Phase 99 (envisioned):

All houses except RyanHouse and SkyHouse were rentals.
